Learning takes flight during Butterfly Camp at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks! Explore butterflies, caterpillars, and even eggs UP CLOSE! Use hand lenses and microscopes to distinguish between different types of eggs and caterpillars, and study butterfly scales through a microscope. Examine which plants are best for pollinators, and be a scientist by participating in real data collection. In this five-day camp, our butterfly volunteer team will lead campers through hands-on lessons, engaging science projects, and various pollinator activities. Topics for study include butterfly and caterpillar habitat, life cycles, coloration and defense, and behaviors. Campers will leave with an appreciation for butterflies, other pollinators, and nature.
Basic reading skills are required. Students should bring a sack lunch and water bottle.
